Well it’s finally here – the biggest gaming event of the region is finally upon us. Yesterday was the first day of GAMES11 at The Dubai Mall Ice Rink, and it was phenomenal. We kicked off with a brief press conference at 10am, followed by the media hands-on with all of the games on show. As the clock ticked towards 2pm when the show would open to the public, there was a healthy queue of eager gamers all waiting to pour into the venue and check out the games. At the Playstation booth we had an exciting range of things on offer including Uncharted 3 singleplayer and multiplayer, Move Fitness, The House of the Dead, Move Cricket, Resistance 3, DanceStar Party, Medieval Moves, RaOne, as well as the new Sony 3D TVs that let two people see different images on the same screen, making for true fullscreen two player gaming. Of course there was also the PS Vita on show, which instantly had a line of people eager to get their hands on this beautiful device. With only 10 of them currently in production, security was certainly tight around the little gem. As the evening drew on, Preethi Malik from Virgin Radio joined us to host the evening’s festivities, with the help of some ridiculously active folks promoting Move Fitness.
There’s still plenty to be seen at GAMES11, so make sure you drop on by for non stop gaming action!
